618 Five Star review Project Scope We contracted 618 construction to do a complete remodel of our master bedroom, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom with a separate wash closet. Our design goal was cohesive flooring throughout the space with an updated shower that offered more space and safety, as well as additional linen storage. Bid Process & Scheduling We received three written quotes as well as two verbal quotes. The vendors who provided the verbal quotes required studio visits and a retainer to finalize the quote. All three written quotes were statistically in the same price range. The quote from 618 Construction was the most thorough and transparent. The material allowances (flooring, tile, vanity, hardware, lighting etc) were clearly stated and reasonable. The other bids were vague around materials cost and options. Additionally, the 618 bid took into account that the space being renovated was 25 years old and subflooring, electrical, and plumbing may need to be updated or brought up to code. There were absolutely no additional costs*, and payment terms were clearly communicated and reasonable. Demo & Construction Complete gut of all existing flooring and  removal of large garden tub, shower, and vanity, lightening, mirror. They moved plumbing to accommodate a new shower, new lighting, new subfloor to create seamless flooring with no thresholds between rooms. The 'rebuild' is high quality construction and was efficiently done. The new shower tile installation is absolutely beautiful, as well as the floors, new cabinets lightening etc. Scheduling This was an extremely well-managed project. Based on previous home renovation projects, we were expecting an 8 week project. This project took 4 weeks and 2 days! The project didn't start until all the materials were onsite, and the subcontractors were scheduled.  We could not be happier with the results. Any issues we had were very minor and addressed immediately. * We were actually under budget, so we were able to add wainscoting in the bedroom and the wash closet.
